An Open Book

It’s been a while, actually ten months since my last blog post… What can I say, life is crazy busy.

Anyone who knows me knows I’ve always got a lot to say. I’ve been told quite often that I say the things no one else has the guts to say…That can be good and it can be bad. I was born an ‘open book’. I’ve heard it said, “You never have to guess what Denise is thinking because she’ll tell you.” I have to admit, that’s true. I’m not mean or insensitive just, outspoken. I would much rather voice my concern, distain or encouragement for others than voice my opinions to everyone else. My intensions aren’t usually to be mean or heartless. In fact, I often intend to speak from a place of authentic concern for people and their situations.

As a Christian, I believe God has uniquely designed each one of us for His purpose and glory. I remember my parents being embarrassed of my outspoken behaviour. Throughout my journey in life I’ve learned to embrace this ‘outspoken’ characteristic of mine. I see it as a ‘gift’ I’ve been given as an ‘encourager’. My intension is never to hurt or insult or embarrass  anyone with my words. The purpose of my words are simply a means to clarify, communicate and solve problems or uplift someone who may need a kind word of encouragement.

You know that tingle of anxiety fluttering in your tummy as you stumble around in the dark trying to find your way to the bathroom in the middle of the night within an unfamiliar home? Well, that’s how I feel attempting to stumble my way through setting up this blog.
